Baltic Amber & Garnet Geode Style Abstract Art
This 70cm diameter piece of abstract art is made with real Baltic Amber pieces, larger pieces in the center and then smaller chips on the outside. I have also incorporated some small tumbled garnet stones around the center and the outer edges. The other colors are created using, resin and pigments.
The base is lightweight Aluminium di bond which keeps the whole piece light in weight and is ready to hang with a hanging plate on the reverse. A stunning statement piece sure to attract attention.
The oldest Amber is said to be 320 million years old and most Amber is 30-90 million years old. Amber is formed by hardened tree resin.
Amber was one of the first substances used for personal adornment. Decorated pieces of amber have been found in remains from the stone age. The stones were used as amulets and talismans before, during, and since the ancient Greeks. Many ancient people buried amber objects and amulets with their dead to protect them in the afterlife.
Amber is known for producing an electrical charge when rubbed. The Greek name for Amber is electron, which the word electricity is derived from.
Amber is considered to be a natural purifier, esteemed for its ability to draw pain and disease from the physical body, as well as the mind and spirit, by absorbing negative or stagnant energies and transforming them into clear, positive energy. This stimulates the body's own mechanisms to heal itself.
